For each chapter of the Myst comic I have a process: following a script I've written, I thumbnail out the acting of the characters, the framing of the characters in the panels, and the layout of the panels on the page. I often like the thumbnails. They are really sketchy, but they have an energy that's sometimes hard to find again when I'm doing the final render.
