wow that took longer than i expected ... I started using a 24x24 box grid system to layout the page. I hope it'll make the rest of the pages feel more structured and consistent.
Maybe you see something unstructured or inconsistent, Heather - but I sure don't.
Your page layouts have always seemed very clear and logical: you're telling people which panel is next using fairly subtle but effective clues, without any awkward junk like numbering or arrows. Page 96, like this one, is a good example. If some grid helps you, that's great, but I don't see where you've been having any problem!
@Emor: Thanks Emor! I appreciate that. I'm glad you think so! :D
I guess I was thinking more in terms of page to page consistency. I've been trying out different publishers to see what it looks like to print the pages as a book. Being physically able to flip through the pages has drawn my attention to some things I think the grid would help with.
Oh and also, I said it took longer than expected to do this page, but it wasn't because I added the grid. That didn't take that long (and it will actually save me some time later). What took a long time was a drawings. Lots going on in this page! I had to redraw Anna several times on several panels >_<
Anyway, thanks again for your kind words!
What a wonderful story, and beautifully illustrated! Thank you for sharing this with us!
@Mireena: Thank you so much! :D I'm glad you're enjoying it!
Your drawings are wonderful. I especially love the one in the top right... Gehn's face is PERFECT - just brimming with disdain and impatience. And Atrus is adorable. And the way it's set up with Anna's back in the middle between them - perfect! Keep up the good work!
@Dachusblot: Thanks Dachusblot!!! :D That's so nice to hear! I really wanted that panel to work. I tried different options. I wanted to have atrus looking at gehn, gehn looking at anna and her between them. Felt like a good analogy for the whole story! :) I'm so glad to hear you liked it! :D
