Time

What would you say Atrus' age is, at this point in the story?

And how much time has elapsed between Atrus' promise to Anna and this sequence?

@Emor D'ni Lap: oh no, it's nice to hear from people who haven't read the book! I'm very interested in how it reads to someone who hasn't read it. Ideally I would like to make it appealing to eve non-myst fans too.

He's supposed to be 14 years old. And the time between this scene and last is unclear ... it could be a few days, a month. I don't know. It could be the same evening as the previous scene, but I imagined Atrus would be pretty wiped out from the day to do heavy stuff like this. Or maybe he's doing it because otherwise his mind is racing with thoughts of D'ni!

I'm another Myst/BoA virgin and you should know that this story is great on its own. I understand what's going on and I think it's brilliant.
