So does this mean that Flame won't die?
@Jevasi: It does. I've have some ideas about how I want to use her differently... we'll see how that goes. Do you have any thoughts about it?
OK. Well this actually seems to be a good way of combining the two story threads and it adds a stronger reason for Anna to disapprove of Atrus going back for the generator. His disobedience in sneaking out and retrieving it could possibly be modified into an obsession with seeing exactly went wrong this time, possibly the idea for his quote from riven "to dwell in the past is to die in the present"?
Also I'm always happy when I don't have to see a cute kitten die from poisoning.
I guess what I'm saying is that this is a good alternative to the other scene and I'm interested in seeing where you go with it.
@Jevasi: Oh, fascinating! It's really neat to hear your imagining of how the story could go. I can easily see that thread playing out. I can see Atrus obsessing to figure out what went wrong. That would be fun.
It's different from what I have planned, as you'll see next week. There's so many directions the story could go.
Awesome! I always wanted to see the cat coming with Atrus to D'ni.
Another thing I wanted to see is Atrus having brothers and sister, but I guess that's too much of a change hahaha
@ThedStranger: Oh, that's so funny. I was thinking about that a few weeks ago ... what would happen if he had siblings ... or rather I imagined a scenario where Anna adopted a kid from the traders.
@larkinheather: Wait, so Flame is actually going with Atrus to D'ni?
@Ahlisendar: Hmmmmm.... I don't want to talk about things before they happen! I figured saying that Flame wasn't going to die was okay ... no need for the anxiety >_<
It wasn't until that last panel before I was sure you had combined these two story threads (I was holding my breath for Flame!).
I feel this flows better here, and shows the development of Atrus' experimentation and sense of responsibility. Can't wait to read more.
