As he ate the roll of bread,
Atrus looked down at the bed.
He picked up the new D'ni shirt,
Not knowing that Rij was alert.

He heard a sound like inhaled air,
And saw that Rij was sitting there.
Atrus reached into his bag,
And tossed a roll for Rij to snag.

He grinned and scratched Rij on the head,
And then glanced at his father's bed.
Gehn was sleeping upon his back,
His breath was easy, his jaw was slack.

Atrus thought, "Who is this man?
Why did he come? What is his plan?"
With Rij watching with a worried face,
Atrus walked over at a measured pace.

YAY!

reply

Thanks for getting the new pages out, Heather!
Wonderful storytelling, as always.
I especially like panel two on this page, with Atrus holding the shirt, pen, journal in his lap and biscuit in his mouth, while Rij sniffs...lots going on there!
...and you put a lot of thought and care put into the lighting here, as always.

Should Patreon This

reply

I know it'll be hard because it's fan content but I'm sure thre's a way to monetize this project if that's what it needs to get going again.

I'd contribute, and I'm Sure other people would if you could put the word out.

Please Come Back!

reply

Please, if it’s at all possible, finish this adaptation! You made such wonderful progress, and I would dearly love to see the end. The rest of the novel is full of such interesting things, too! I’d happily contribute to a Kickstarter campaign to help you finish this!

Please pick up the pen again

reply

I don't know what troubles made you stop, or even if they're troubles at all, but I just wanted to plea that you continue these fine works of art. I've been reading these comics along with the novel, and I've been inspired by them. You draw in ways I never could, you present the emotions of these characters so clearly, & you've even managed to combine scenes from later chapters in so seamlessly - Which makes you just as good a writer as you are an illustrator! I know I'm not alone in my asking for you to continue, and I see the noteworthy amount of love that you've put into these pictures. Your skills are incredible and I think I can speak for all of us when I say that we've enjoyed every last picture. Please pick up the pen again: The ending has not yet been written. ;)

You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be really something which I think I would never understand. It seems too complicated and extremely broad for me. I'm looking forward for your next post, I'll try to get the hang of it! bbkefdbeebek
